Shocking moment! During yesterday’s trip to my home forest stream behind my house I dropped my 150mm APO Symmar lens into the water while setting up the camera. And not just into a little puddle but really into 50cm deep water. Luckily, at this position the stream formed a little bay with calm water so it was no problem to get it back out of the water. There was obviousy no water between the lenses of the front or rear elements but inside the COPAL 0 shutter. So I opened the shutter and tried to dry it a goog as possible. Good sideeffect is, that I learned something about the inner life of a large format lens shutter. And, best thing, the shutter works! I hope there will not be long-term effects in the form of rust.
